The North Falmouth Village Association has awarded $1,000 scholarships to four local students who will be graduating from Falmouth High School this year. All are National Honor Society members who have exhibited not only academic excellence, but also an exemplary dedication to service both at the school and in their community.

Brendan Keating is a John and Abigail Adams Scholarship winner who is a member of the Latin and Math National Honor Societies. Captain of the Falmouth High lacrosse team, he also played on the school's basketball team and won coaches awards in both sports. His community activities have included serving as a math tutor, peer tutor, youth football coach, and Hoop Club coach, as well as volunteering with Wings for Falmouth Families and the Falmouth Road Race. He plans to attend UMass Amherst, and his career goal is to be a civil engineer with an environmental focus.

Christina Femino's school activities range from sports (she was captain of the volleyball and softball teams, in addition to playing on the basketball team) to student government (she is secretary/treasurer of the Class of 2025) to the arts (she performed in several school theater productions). In addition, she is vice president of the school's Hope Squad, a group through which students can share their troubles and concerns, and a member of the Math, Science, and Spanish National Honor Societies. Her awards include the AP Scholar Award, a Society of Women Engineers Certificate of Merit, the Mass Maritime Advanced Studies and Leadership Program's Top Female Delegate, and the Spanish Seal of Biliteracy. She plans to major in civil engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute before pursuing a postgraduate degree, with the ultimate goal of working in construction management.

Nathan Bushy participated in a array of team sports at Falmouth High—football (where he served as captain), lacrosse, basketball, and indoor track and field. His awards include the Falmouth Football Ray Paltz Memorial Award for Loyalty and Dedication, coaches awards in lacrosse and basketball, and a sportsmanship award. In addition to serving as a peer mentor, he is a flag football coach, a youth lacrosse coach, and a Scoops Lacrosse coach. He also served as a volunteer for the Falmouth Road Race. He plans to attend Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire; there he will play lacrosse and study emergency medical services, with the goal of ultimately becoming a firefighter and paramedic.

Molly Belfiore, captain of the Falmouth High soccer and softball teams, also participated in the Best Buddies friendship program, served as a Wellness Leader, and was a member of the Math National Honor Society. Her community activities have included tutoring, volunteering for the Falmouth Road Race, and coaching youth soccer and softball teams. She plans to attend Bard College in New York, where she will major in biology and play on the college soccer team. A former intern with Advanced Dental in Falmouth, she ultimately would like a career as a dentist.
Every year, the NFVA awards four $1,000 scholarships to North Falmouth residents who are graduating high school. The awards are based on academic achievement, participation in school and local activities, and overall service to the community. Applications typically open at the beginning of the calendar year.
