At its Oct. 9 Annual Meeting, the North Falmouth Village Association elected two new co-presidents:

Ilene Karnow of North Hill, whose longtime involvement in the association has included leading its community outreach events, helping with local plantings, leading the weekly mahjong gatherings, and spearheading the drive to restore the Village Junction building and celebrate its historical roots. She became a board director in 2023.

Ruth McLaughlin, who prior to joining the NFVA board in 2024 helped with local landscaping projects as part of the association's Garden Club team. Retired from running the Cape and Islands Public Defender's Office, she grew up in Hatchville, attended the Falmouth school system, and has lived on Wild Harbor Road for more than three decades.
In addition, three directors were added to the NFVA board:

Brittney Dexter (shown here with her daughter, Aleigh), who has been a frequent contributor to all of the North Falmouth Village Association's initiatives. A member of the association's communications team, she oversees the NFVA's Facebook and Instagram pages; through her timely and creative posts, she ensures that the North Falmouth community remains informed of the association's activities. She was a member of the committee that set up this year's well-attended Annual Meeting at the Daily Brew, and has been a driving force in the NFVA's efforts to improve and revitalize the Nye Park playground. She lives in North Falmouth.

Melessa (Missy) Fox, who grew up in North Falmouth as a teenager and for the past 15 years has lived in the village with her husband, Dennis. Recently retired from Falmouth Hospital after serving as the cardiac rehab nurse for 27 years, she is an active member of the North Falmouth Congregational Church and the Aptucxet Garden Club of Bourne. Melessa has two daughters, two stepchildren, and two grandchildren (ages 3 and 5) with whom she enjoys spending time. Her other interests include biking on the Shining Sea Bikeway, playing tennis, gardening, and boating in Buzzards Bay.

Ray Glass, who has been a North Falmouth resident for 27 years and, along with his wife, a longtime member of the NFVA. A native of Newton, MA, he graduated from Northeastern University with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, and for the past 30 years he has worked as an electrical engineer for leading companies throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island; most recently, he's served as senior electrical engineer for Teledyne Marine in North Falmouth. He enjoys travel, camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities, and looks forward to helping the association advance its mission and achieve its community goals.
