Last month, several members of the North Falmouth Village Association participated in Litter-Free Falmouth's sixth annual townwide cleanup. Founded in 2020 by local residents Alan Robinson and Margaret Sabens, Litter-Free Falmouth has collected thousands of bags of trash from the town's roadsides. Now, in 2026, it will add to that total with the help of the North Falmouth Village Association.
The NFVA, in partnership with Litter-Free Falmouth, will sponsor six North Falmouth Community Cleanups in the coming year. Each will occur on Sundays, with the cleanup crew meeting for complimentary coffee at the Daily Brew, 412 North Falmouth Highway. From there, they'll disperse throughout North Falmouth for an hour of cleaning and camaraderie.

"I hope this will allow people to interact as part of of bigger cause to keep North Falmouth beautiful," says Ilene Karnow. "Even if someone can't participate on one of the Sundays, they can still 'adopt' a road in the village to keep litter-free at their own pace."
The cleanups will begin in March. If you would like to join the crew or adopt a road, or if you have suggestions for roads and areas in North Falmouth to which the crews should pay special attention, contact Ruth at alisonmae@me.com.
