North Falmouth Porchfest Debuts Aug. 6
Join us on Aug. 6 for the first North Falmouth Porchfest—an afternoon of local bands playing on lawns and porches along Old Main Road. There will also be an Arts and Crafts Pop-up on the field adjacent to Cynthia Bourget's Law Office (194 Old Main Road), featuring the work of some of the area's best visual, ceramic, fiber, and literary artists.
The musicians will offer something for every taste—from folk tunes and traditional chanties to indie and classic rock. Here are the acts confirmed so far:
Some of the finest Irish traditional musicians on Cape Cod.
Fast-paced folk anthems, sweet tremolo electric jams, and quietly powerful story songs.
Original American pop/rock songs: catchy melodies, big fuzzy guitar sounds, and sing-along choruses.
Graveyard of the Atlantic
Original songs that, as one reviewer noted, "are emotionally driven and filled with distanced guitars and melodic vocals."
A multi-Grammy-nominated soul-funk jam band and musical production team.
A guitarist and songwriter who has played with some of the region's best up-and-coming indie musicians.
Another indie singer/songwriter who has composed the scores for independent films and nationally televised ad campaigns.
The Paradise Rock Band
Good time music that makes you dance— a mix of bluesy funk, Classic Rock favorites, and over 100 original songs.
Pterodan (Dan McCarthy)
Stripped-down, drum-first, guitar-looped instrumentals.
Rock 'n' roll tunes from the 1960s that everyone knows and loves.
The Sonnay Fiddlers
Consisting of musicians ages 5 and up, the Sonnay Fiddlers play a large repertoire of Celtic tunes.
North Falmouth Porchfest is supported in part by a grant from the Mass Cultural Council. Thank you also to Rockland Trust, a Gold Sponsor of the event.
